Teach at Home

Hi guys, here is the third installment to my Legit Online Work At Home Jobs series. Have you ever considered taking up a career in education? How about teaching English at home? If you're confident with your proficiency in English and think you have a knack for teaching, then why not make a living out of it? Well, now you can with 51Talk.

I was browsing through my Facebook news feed a couple of weeks back and saw a college friend of ours post this ad about the company she currently works at. They were hiring home-based e-educators. I was like, what? Teach from home? I know I shouldn't be surprised, with the technology we have these days anything was possible, but I still was. Anyway, it was a legit work from home online job that I just knew I had to share with you all, so here goes:

51Talk is an online English teaching company that specializes in providing quality English online education by expediting instructive exchanges between their teachers and trainees. The company began their teaching ventures as a small account providing Nihonggo classes for the people of China. The inspiration behind their brand can be traced back to when ESL (English as a Second Language) was only for the well-off. Chinese and Japanese businessmen knew of many opportunities on how to grow their ventures, but the language barrier made their attempts to tie up impossible. People who were proficient in both languages took advantage of this situation by offering classes which made partnerships attainable. Huang JiaJia, who is the founder of 51Talk, grabbed the chance to create equal learning opportunities for everybody. His proposition for teaching English was met with great interest, and it wasn’t long before investors saw notable potential. It was an enormous surprise when, shortly after the launch of 51Talk, thousands of students enrolled. Because the demand grew, the company decided to outsource teaching. And because we Filipinos are known to have an excellent command of the English language, the company decided to recruit teachers from the Philippines. It has also been noted that the patience of Filipino teachers was perfect for trainees at the beginner level.

51Talk, the premier online English school in China and the Philippines, specializes in providing quality English online training by facilitating collaborative cultural exchanges between its teachers and students.

Their mission is “To deliver the best value and best quality services while employing a happy and high-performing team.” The desire to build a happy, high-performing team played an enormous part in building the brand. With standards to maintain, and the drive to carry this out, it didn’t take long for 51Talk to form a pioneer team of highly skilled individuals.

Their vision is “To be recognized as the best and largest professional online English school in China and the leading online English company in the Philippines.” This is the 51Talk vision that became a reality – what started out as a very small account progressed into the premier online English school in China and the Philippines.

Be an English teacher at the comfort of your own home. All you need is of course good English skills, wired DSL connection with the speed of at least 1.5mbps, a computer or laptop with Windows OS, proficiency in computer and internet use, a Skype account, your time and willingness to work.

Who doesn't love the idea of having freedom to choose your work schedule? Well, I do! Work part-time or full-time, it's all up to you. If I didn't have two small kids screaming all day long, which they're actually doing right now, it's a miracle that I can even hear myself think and do this write up, I would've signed up on 51Talk the minute I saw the ad about it on Facebook. I even mentioned it to Mr. D in passing, and he was definitely thinking about it as a potential future career to take on. He was born to teach, but I'm not 100% sure that I could say the same about me though, haha. A home-based career of teaching English can be for anyone with the right set of skills, patience and dedication. Call center agents, stay at home moms like me sans the wailing children, or even students. Yes, even students can sign up for this.

So you think you're quite good in English? Consider a career teaching the language and earn from home. Check out 51Talk today. Who knew teaching English could stretch your peso huh? Well, now we know! Cheers!
