So, I can't remember exactly when I joined this group called FILIPINA HOMEBASED MOMS or FHMoms on Facebook, but I have been seeing posts from fellow members on my news feed on a regular basis and have always found them timely, interesting and quite useful for a mom with a homebased job (although in my case, just part time) like me, in the Philippines.</div>

A few days ago, a mom inquired about homeschooling and I just couldn't help but chime in on the thread since we have been homeschooling for 3 years now and counting. It was my first time interacting with the moms in the group who I belatedly realize that I have a lot more in common with other than being a mom, wife and an online freelancer. Now I found fellow homeschoolers as well! It made me more comfortable to voice out my opinions and give inputs in conversations from then on in FHMoms.</div>

I've met Mommy Bernz of 4Ms who is very passionate about spreading the word about homeschooling, that it is for every Filipino family in different walks of life and not just for those who can afford it. Debunking the misconception that it's for the rich or upper middle class alone. And I agree, homeschooling is for everybody who wants/needs it. It just depends on your principles as parents, priorities and dedication in taking on the task (how much income a household earns doesn't really come into it). Because the journey of homeschooling, quite frankly, is not an easy one, but is definitely rewarding and worth all the effort in the end.</div>

So, anyway I found out that they will be conducting a program this April to help Filipinos who want to take on the work at home lifestyle. The traffic in Metro Manila isn't going to get better anytime soon, the government is working on it but an instant fix just isn't possible for a problem this serious and of this scale. People with spare or free parking slots (unfortunately, I'm not one of them) can also use this mobile application to rent it out to those who are in need of space to park their car in. Oh my goodness! In an undoubtedly surprising turn of events (seriously hoping this isn't happening), Grab and Uber, two of the biggest car-booking apps in the world, are close to signing a deal that would result in the US company withdrawing in the Southeast Asian market and sell its regional operations to their Singapore rival in return for a more than 20 per cent stake in Grab. Fellow Rizal and Metro Manila commuters, apparently the move has been reported to be under discussion for months and comes in just weeks after Japanese technology conglomerate SoftBank, Uber’s biggest investor called on the Silicon Valley company to focus on core markets. SoftBank also holds stakes in other ridesharing companies worldwide like Singapore's Grab, China's Didi, and India’s Ola.</div>

The deal will be like the agreement that Uber struck with their fierce competitor Chinese ridesharing company Didi Chuxing back in 2016, when the former sold its China operations to Didi in exchange for a 20 percent stake in the company. </div>

The agreement will put an end to a lengthy and onerous battle for dominion in the Southeast Asian ridesharing industry, which is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing markets in the world (as of yet) and home to over 600 million people. For Uber, this is an opportunity to sort out their financial problems and boost profits in anticipation of its planned initial public offering (IPO) set next year. It has been reported that the company has spent over $10 billion since it was founded in 2009.</div>

Grab  is presently valued at $6 billion, currently has operations in 178 cities all over Southeast Asia and its mobile app has been downloaded over 80 million times. When Uber goes, it will be the only ridesharing app available to us for booking cars. The Singapore-based company was founded in 2012 and has expanded aggressively across the region, operating in eight countries. Alongside car-booking, it has also launched a mobile payments platform called GrabPay which is designed for markets with under-developed banking. I'm quite fond of their delivery service called GrabExpress which I frequent for shipping and receiving fragile items on the same day. I only have good things to say about it, so far.</div>

Diffusing essential oils has been an every day thing for our family since last year. Imagine my horror when a couple of weeks after receiving our Young Living Premium Starter Kit last December our diffuser suddenly stopped producing mist. Not even a tiny whiff. It just stopped working. I cleaned it by following the instructions written in the manual but it still wouldn't work. I even tried it without the cover and inner lid on to see what was happening inside, the water just kept rippling. I informed Young Living of what happened to our Desert Mist through their Live Help chat support on their website, they suggested cleaning the diffuser 3 more times then, trying it out again after. I was hoping that would do the trick, but it didn't. The next time I contacted Young Living with the same concern, they offered a new replacement diffuser of the same model, but the thing was I had to ship the damaged diffuser to them first. I appreciate Young Living's offer and would've considered it if I were in the same country as them which isn't the case. So, I decided to find a quicker solution with less shipping costs. I was actually playing around with the idea of just stashing the damaged diffuser in storage (I couldn't toss it away, it was too pretty) and just get a new one until I stumbled upon DiffuserDoc while searching for diffuser repair on Google.</div>

I purchased their newest product, the Young Living Desert Mist repair kit priced at $13.99 plus shipping fee to the Philippines which costs $7.99, paid for it via Paypal. I placed the order on February 11 and received my package on the 27th of the same month. The courier was via US Postal Service, so it went to our province's Post Office and not our home. We usually get a claim stub from the postman informing us of the international package waiting for us in their office, but our schedule would never permit us time to personally go there to get our mail which was ok because our designated postman agreed to deliver our packages to our doorstep. We just had to pay for the storage fee that usually costs around Php112 upon delivery. That's how I got our repair kit even though it wasn't shipped via Registered Airmail which would send it straight to our home address.</div>
