Autumn in Manila

If you've read my previous article about GMA 7's Oscar Oida and TV 5's MJ Marfori's upcoming wedding and who will be making their cake for that special day, then you're in for a treat! Here's the follow up story, the wedding itself and the big reveal!

Last January 30, media people & showbiz personalities from different networks, together with famous politicians, gathered at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila to witness a special kind of merger between Oscar Oida and MJ Marfori, dubbed as "OMJ: The Merger." The lovely couple's entourage included Ivan Mayrina, Kapuso host Lolit Solis, actress Bianca King, Kapatid actor Derek Ramsay, News 5 head Luchi Cruz Valdes, plus some of the heavy hitters in the Philippine broadcast journalism scene, such as GMA News anchors Mel Tiangco, Mike Enriquez, Jessica Soho, Rhea Santos, Howie Severino, Pia Arcangel, and Arnold Clavio. Let's take a look at some of the photos of this power-couple's wedding:

Among the guests were Kapuso, Kapatid, and Kapamilya showbiz reporters such as Nelson Canlas, Aubrey Carampel, Lhar Santiago, Gretchen Fullido, IC Mendoza, Ginger Conejero, Dolly Anne Carvajal, to name some. Senatorial candidate Francis Tolentino, Sen. Bongbong Marcos, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, TV5's Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, TV5 President Noel Lorenzana, GMA executive Marissa Flores, Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez with wife Cristina Gonzales, and GMA's Chairman & CEO Felipe L. Gozon were also there for Oscar and MJ's big day.

Here's a little tidbit about the couple: Oscar is the youngest son of former National Bureau of Investigation Director Oscar Oida Sr. and Beata Elumba Oida, on the other hand MJ is the daughter of Jose Enrique (already deceased) and Teresita Romualdez, the daughter of Vicente Romualdez, the older brother of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. This answers the question as to why Sen. Bongbong Marcos and his mother were there and took part in the couple's big day.

From the beautiful decor at the church to the jaw-dropping set-up of their reception held at the Palacio De Manila, this star-studded event is definitely one for the books. Autumn in Manila indeed, which is undoubtedly something you don't see every day in the country. Kudos to the whole team who made the couple's vision of a beautiful fall wedding into reality, they certainly knocked it out of the park, wouldn't you agree?

Now on to one of the best parts of a wedding reception, the pièce de résistance, the cake! Check out what Honey Glaze Cakes created especially for Oscar and MJ.
