Clogged Toilet/Drain Quick Fix
Don't you just hate it when your toilet bowl gets stuck or your drain is
blocked and you don't have a man present to fix it for you? It
happened to me a number of times and I wasn't happy about it at all, but who would be, right? I had
to wait for Dave to come home before it could get sorted out. It's a good
thing we have 2 kitchens and 3 bathrooms in our home, so if one gets stuck we have
others to use. But what if you don't?
I'm not really comfortable calling a plumber, keen on having toxic chemicals
around the house like Sosa, or ok with taking the brute force route of using a
plunger. Good thing Dave is into trying out a lot of hacks shared on the internet and found one that's quite easy for me to do by myself.
What you'll need:
Dishwashing Liquid
A Pot of Boiling Water just off the stove
Pot Holders (safety first!)
And a bit of elbow grease in my case, since the pot is big and I am not haha.
So, if you ever find yourself having a blocked toilet bowl, drain or sink, do what we do! Just pour around a cup of dishwashing liquid (leave it for about 5 minutes) and follow it up with a huge pot of boiling tap water. It isn't messy like using a plunger and it works like a charm! There was this one time, when the toilet bowl got stuck and Miss Artsy was the last to use it, I let her flush it after pouring the water and she was amazed at how effective the dishwashing liquid and hot water fix was. She even said that she will keep it in mind, just in case it happens to her in the future and she's alone in the house haha!
