I don't know if you've heard about the great vaccination debate but it's something that we all should look into when it comes to health. My readers know by now where my stand is on natural remedies, chemical-free treatments and preventative medicine versus conventional medicine. How I prefer to go the natural route as opposed to taking chemical-based drugs for every little thing like a headache, not being able sleep or even to merely treat the common cold. How I focus more on nutrition to keep fit and healthy instead of being prescription-drug-dependent as most people are nowadays. It's been working for us, for more than a decade now, quite effective even. The people who say that natural remedies and homeopathy don't work, either haven't tried it at all or have too much toxins in their systems that their bodies don't respond to the natural approach like ours do, because of our strict healthy lifestyle. Natural cures work, and that's a fact. I just want to get that out there. And now, back to vaccines.<br />

I'd like to ask all of you to kindly keep an open mind about "questioning vaccines," what's in them, how they affect an individual's body once injected, were there enough safety studies conducted to make sure that they are indeed safe and how much do doctors who give them really know about what they're injecting into their patients. Just to be clear, this is not an anti-vaccine movement article, but a Pro-HEALTH, Pro-FAMILY, Pro-SAFETY, Pro-KIDS, Pro-SCIENCE and Pro-Informed Consent post focusing on vaccine awareness.<br />

What do we really know about vaccines? Most people just know that they're safe and are for prevention of catching infectious diseases. So if you want your kids to be healthy, make sure their shots are up to date. Other than that, nothing much, right? Unless we belong to a certain group of people who are familiar with biochemistry and toxicology, which I am not. That's why my opinion and approach on tackling this subject matter is solely based on experience as a parent of 4, observation, and sheer common sense by merely putting 2 and 2 together.<br />

Have you ever wondered what's in vaccines? Isn't it true that before we buy a house or car, we research first? Same goes when choosing schools or universities or even our toothpaste brand. So why are we not doing the same when it comes to vaccines? Because we trust doctors and believe them irrefutably when they say that vaccines are good and safe for our kids, right? Well, they're human too, and can make mistakes. Ever heard of people suffering from misdiagnosis? It happens, because doctors don't know everything.<br />

As parents, we are the final authority when it comes to the well-being of our children, this includes decisions about their health. Injecting something into our child's body isn't a small matter, we should be educated about what's exactly in each shot, the risks if any, side effects and how safe they really are in order for us to make an informed choice when it comes to vaccination. It all boils down to getting thoroughly educated about what we are letting doctors/nurses inject into our bodies.<br />

In my personal experience, the pediatricians we've been to who administer shots don't know much about vaccines at all. They actually don't read the package inserts and just takes the pharmaceutical rep's word for it that they're safe and effective to use on humans. So, how does one go about in becoming educated about vaccines? Well, there's the internet, you can search the CDC website about each vaccine they approve of, this includes the ingredients and side effects. You can also search for articles about the risks and vaccine injured families who do exist. Last weekend we went for an overnight stay in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. My sister is currently in the country for an overdue vacation and she wanted to treat our small family to a beach outing not that far from the metro. I was the one appointed to choose which beach resort to book which was a bit of a challenge, we only had limited options because it was a last minute thing. The accommodations and room service are of utmost importance to me since we do have 4 kids and I don't swim. Yup, I wouldn't go near the water if I could help it haha. That's why room service is a <b>BIG</b> deal for me. I know Dave and our eldest, Miss Artsy, don't care much about the room we'll be staying in because hitting the beach is the only thing they have in mind, but with little tykes tagging along on this trip, there should be a standard when it comes to the room we'll be resting in. And the food, we needed to make sure that our meals would be good across the board. </div>

Acuaverde to our delight wasn't crowded so we all could enjoy the scenery, the smell of the sea and the feel of the sand under our feet. My companions checked into our rooms first and the beds were already messy so I couldn't take decent pictures except for one that's why I had to grab photos from Acuaverde's official website to show you how each of them looks like all made up as shown above.</div>

As I said, the rooms were great, but the room service was even better. I kept ordering their fruit shakes, I loved their fresh watermelon the best. For their milkshakes, of course I went with their chocolate. I highly recommend trying their chicken wings - buffalo glazed, didn't try the adobo variant because I was already in love with the classic buffalo haha.I forgot to take photos the said dish, couldn't wait to gobble them up once they were delivered to our room.</div>

Swimming is only until 6pm, by then they'd light a bonfire near the beach. The view at night was great as well, the sound of the waves calming. Like us, most of the guests didn't sleep til late. Instead they'd either take a stroll around the cozy resort or stay in their private veranda sipping hot/cold drinks while enjoying the cool weather and beautiful scenery.</div>

The buffet spread was good at the Cocina Restaurant, we also tried their A La Carte menu which included the chicken wings that I can't forget. Breakfast was served around 7-9am, lunch at 12-2pm and dinner was at 7-9pm. Didn't have a chance to take any shots of the food since we had our hands full with 4 kids haha, we had to eat fast or else, there was going to be some crying haha.</div>

Yesterday, June 7, 2017,<b> </b>unauthorized transactions appeared in the accounts 
of Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) clients. People of course took to social media to voice out their complaints and concerns regarding the discrepancies in their deposit accounts in the said bank. Some netizens said they lost up to five figures in a flash. Others said they not only lost all of their money, but also owe BPI some (negative balance). Meanwhile, some netizens reported money being added to their accounts.</div>

Depositors of the bank were alarmed Wednesday when they discovered strange withdrawals and deposits in their accounts. But who wouldn't, right? I also wanted to check if the same thing happened to my account and my mom's, unfortunately I couldn't log in via mobile app anymore no matter how many times I tried. I guess by the time I got whiff of the news, the bank already deactivated electronic channels which included online banking services. I couldn't go out to check via ATM.</div>

 long lines of puzzled account holders were starting to form in some 
BPI branches, the bank issued a statement saying that an "internal data 
processing error" had caused some accounts to be debited or credited twice for
 a past transaction.</div>

BPI said the error caused some 
transactions at BPI and BPI Family Savings, between April 27 and May 2, 
to be double-posted on June 6.  The bank
 assured that none of its clients would lose money as a result of the 
technical glitch, that the issues will be resolved on the same day and that the bank would continue to service them. </div>

Sentral ng Pilipinas' (BSP) inclusive finance and financial consumer 
protection, told radio DZMM.</div>

I was hoping that they'd be back online today, but then BPI issued a statement around 10:30am via Facebook that they were deactivating electronic channels yet again due to some accounts still having incorrect balances.<br />

I've been a client of BPI for years, and depend on their mobile app's money transfer feature to pay for my online purchases and also the household bills. I sure hope they resolve this glitch as soon as possible.<br /><br /><b>UPDATE</b><br /><br />Was finally able to log in to the BPI mobile app last night and check the balances of our accounts, all is good. Glad they fixed it!</div>

Based on the items that I saw inside the box, I knew that my 3-year-old daughter would be the best choice and that she would love what Crated Memories' February box has in store of us this long weekend. There are 8 fun activities all in all, that came with complete instructions. 3 of them to our delight were art projects, we actually got to decorate a heart-shaped paper mache box with washi tapes and jewel stickers for one. We even got to design a blank canvas bag and apron using a brush and poster paint.<br />

My daughter zoned in on the vegetable and fruit toys for the "Cooking with Mommy" activity and played kitchen for more than half an hour. At first she would only identify each toy by color, then started naming the fruits and veggies she was familiar with. I just helped her with the ones she doesn't know about yet, like the bitter melon or "Ampalaya" and some mushrooms.  We couldn't really play the board game because she'd take the dice and pawns and do her own game without the game board haha. Same goes with the "Travel in Tricycle" activity because the minute she figured out that some of the pieces were magnets, she took them all and hurriedly arranged them on the fridge! We'll have a go at it again when she's older. The activities are recommended for children ages 3-10 and are focused on honing a child's  math, reading, socio-emotional, creativity, imagination, language, science, social and fine motor skills through art, books and interactive games. <br />

Alzheimer's, diabetes, and even cancer.<br />

One study found that eating a lot of cruciferous vegetables decreased the risk of colon cancer.
