So, what's the big deal about this augmented reality game? You see, Pokémon GO is essentially every Pokémon fan’s fantasy. I was actually a huge fan of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu together with Misty and

when I caught a Mewtwo for the first time. I was on cloud nine! With Pokémon GO you can become an actual Pokémon trainer who gets to travel around, capturing Pokémon here and there, evolve them, and then battle them at your local Gym. For anyone who grew up playing and watching the series like me, Pokémon GO is basically a dream come true. Yes, we finally get to be Ash! The only problem is, now that the game has launched on both Android and iOS platforms, we can safely say that this game isn't all that dreamy.</div>

There are a lot of ways, for Android users, to sideload 
Pokémon GO onto your mobile device, so that they can

fixes are full of malware, some can even let hackers gain full remote access of your devices and extract all information inside it. </div>

Hackers are after any angle that paves their way into gaining a foothold
 on our devices. A popular game or app that is still not available in
 some countries or areas is a sure way of crafting a malware delivery 
strategy. Sadly, Filipinos have proven time and time again that they’ll click and try anything without a second thought, just to get instant access to a new, even prohibited or early-release app. Cyber criminals on the other hand, have proven time and time again that they’ll find a way to 
infect that software… By installing software from third-party markets and 
unknown sources we are basically increasing our risk of malware. Period.<br />

<b>5. Google Account Full Access</b><br />

It was reported that Pokémon Go gets full access to your Gmail, Docs and Google account once installed on your device, it shouldn't — but it does!<br />
<br />
The game as expected would require a lot of permissions, because in order for you to play, it needs to get your location, access the camera and motion sensors, read and write to your SD
 card, and charge you money for In App purchases. But what's up with full access to your Google Account? The game would then be able to see and modify 
nearly all information in your Google Account except change your 
password, delete your account, or pay with Google Wallet on your 
behalf. But still, there is no obvious reason as to why this access should be requested in the first
 place, and there’s no way to change it (revoking privileges will only result in 
crashing the game or signing you out). The most troubling part in my opinion is that the permission is both asked for and given without notifying the user. Risky, with the capital R.</div>

<b>7. Don't Expect The Actual Gameplay</b></div>

For hardcore Pokémon gamers, the actual game-play itself will leave them disappointed. Ultimately, Pokémon GO can't be considered a “true” Pokémon game. From the battles to the stats, how to level up, evolve, the whole game experience is a stripped down version of the one we're familiar with in the handheld gaming consoles way back. Sorry folks, don't expect an in-depth battle system on this one,... yet.  <br />

It's safe to say that Pokémon GO won't be gracing any of the mobile devices in our home. Even without the issues we have just tackled, I still don't see myself immersing myself in this game for fairly practical reasons. First, I have a family with four kids to take care of, and second, it won't stretch my peso! Haha. Take that, Nintendo!<br />

<br />Last year's Blogapalooza introduced <b>foodpanda</b> to Dave and I, it's a food delivery service launched in June 2014 which allows us to conveniently discover food in our area and directly order meals or items available from their menus either online or via mobile. At times like these, living in Metro Manila would be great haha, you should know by now how much I love getting everything delivered since I don't go out much. Anyway, last month I had the opportunity to try out<b> foodpanda</b> for the first time and here's how it went:<br />

So Dave's birthday was coming up, yes, we already did a small double celebration in Las Pinas with his brother but I still wanted to make the day of his own birthday a tad special. So I told him I would cook an entire Italian meal from scratch which is one of his favorites, so he was all for that. My biggest dilemma was I don't bake, as of yet, so how was there going to be a cake to fit the meal I was planning to serve? I don't go out, and I can't make Dave buy himself his own cake. Out of nowhere I just remembered foodpanda, I hurriedly went to their website hoping they had at least one cake shop partner that delivers to our area in Rizal. I was ecstatic to find out that <b>Red Ribbon</b>, their Pasig branch that is, could cater to our area! Score for me!</div>

So I went ahead and signed up for an account and placed my order. I chose a regular-sized Tiramisu Meltdown, <span class="st"><i>Tiramisu</i> being a popular coffee-flavoured Italian dessert that would just complement the birthday meal I was planning, and the cake version Red Ribbon had was just perfect. I also got a junior-sized Black Forest cake which brings back a lot of memories from childhood, for our youngest son who was turning 6 months old a day before his dad's birthday.  </span><br />

I proceeded to checkout and finalized my order. I immediately received an SMS and email regarding my order from <b>foodpanda</b> informing me that a confirmation message/mail will be sent once they have contacted the restaurant about the items that I wanted to purchase. I got a call a few minutes after that, they told me that there was a slight problem with my order, one item wasn't available in the Red Ribbon branch near our place. It was a good thing none of my little ones were napping at the time or I couldn't answer the call. I wish they could do it through SMS in the future, instead of calls. So back to the problem with my order, originally, the junior-sized cake I wanted was their Ultimate Chocolate Cake, but that wasn't in stock at the Pasig branch. So, I just told the <b>foodpanda</b> rep I was talking to, that I'll just get the Black Forest instead. It wasn't that big a deal since the small cake was just an afterthought on my end, at least the Tiramisu cake was available.<br />

So anyway, after that was settled, I got another call from them. This time it was from the Red Ribbon delivery guy asking where in a certain subdivision we were exactly located. The information they received from <b>foodpanda</b> was wrong, they were given the name of the subdivision next to us. So when the delivery guy told the security guards at the village entrance what street he was delivering goods to, they were confused because there was no such street name. It was a good thing he was familiar with our village once I told him the right one. Even with the wrong address, the cakes I ordered arrived within the promised 60 minutes, I was happy with that. We paid the courier, signed the receipts and the transaction was done.<br />

No service is ever perfect, small mistakes can happen to anyone, even companies like <b>foodpanda</b>. In the end, I still got my orders on time and in pristine condition. Would I order from <b>foodpanda</b> again? In a heartbeat! They made it possible for us to have cake on Dave's birthday without going out to get one, which is priceless. Without their food delivery service there wasn't going to be any cake for us at all. Hoping for more restaurants in our area to partner with them, so that we can have more options for future food deliveries, especially the healthy ones.</div>

Two weeks ago, we celebrated Dave and his younger brother's birthday in Las Pinas. We planned it around 2 weeks before and I decided that we needed something for the intimate get together that would make these Cebuano pair of birthday celebrants feel extra special. The first thing I did was click on the search box on Facebook and typed "lechon cebu" which gave me a couple of results, there I came accross Bai's Boneless Lechon Cebu. Did I read it right, Boneless? I've never heard of boneless lechon before. It got me curious, so I visited their Facebook page and was set on ordering us one for the weekend. I wasn't really sure if they delivered in Rizal, good thing we were having the do within Metro Manila. I had the choice of ordering their Family pack (1k) - good for 4-5 people priced at P675,<span class="text_exposed_show"> Barkada pack (2.5k) - good for 10-15 people priced at P1700, or their Party pack (3.8k) - good for 20-25 people priced at P2700. I opted to get the Barkada pack which was just perfect for our small party.</span></div>

I sent them a message via Facebook since I couldn't call them up personally to place my order. When you're taking care of 2 temperamental toddlers and an infant, the peace must be maintained, thus, no phone calls or the screaming would start and who knows how long it'll take before they settle down again haha. </div>

Anyway, I sent them a message telling them that I couldn't call their hotline for personal reasons and even though the drill was to do it through a call, they let me do a transaction with them through Facebook chat instead. I can't thank them enough for accommodating my request to do business with them that way, two thumbs up on customer service! So I gave them the usual shipping details and received information on how to pay for my order. Once I settled the bill, sent them a copy of the proof of payment, all that was left was waiting for the boneless lechon Cebu to be delivered on the set date. </div>

On the day of the get together, I received an SMS from Dexter, who at the time I didn't know was the brains behind Bai's Boneless Lechon Cebu, informing me that they were stuck in Marcos Alvarez on their way to my brother in law's home for the delivery. We just arrived and was parking the car when I got a call from Dexter, this was without my knowledge, since I left my phone in the car and went in the house in a hurry with my crying 5-month-old baby in tow. Dave, didn't know about my order, it was supposed to be a surprise which I forgot to tell Dexter haha, so when he answered my phone he was confused haha. They were all confused but then I went out and waved at Dexter and just signalled Dave that all is well. I mouthed, "It was supposed to be a surprise, sorry for the confusion!" at my husband. Ugh, if I just took my phone with me and answered the call myself, the surprise would have been perfect! By the way, they were having a Father's Day promo that very weekend, free bottles of Pepsi for every purchase, but of course we told them to leave ours out since none of us drink soda anymore. Check out our Barkada boneless lechon Cebu, it was still hot and crispy. It smelled so good when we took it out of the box, we almost forgot to take a photo of it before slicing haha. Yes, we wanted to taste it right away when we saw it and the house started to smell like lechon Cebu. Definitely a Cebuano pleaser, I made the right choice in ordering from Bai's.<br />

When the eating started, all of us hit the platter of sliced boneless lechon Cebu pretty hard. Curiosity for us Manilenos and for the Cebuanos, finally a taste of home, drove us to stuff our faces with the succulent offering from Bai's.  It didn't disappoint. None of the lechons cooked and served here in Manila comes up to par with this Cebu specialty. Every inch was flavorful and absolutely scrumptious, no sauce needed at all. The skin was crispy and had just the right amount of saltiness which everybody loved. The meat was tender and was jam-packed with flavor, it didn't really need the usual gravy/sauce we from Manila usually go for. I love the fact that this lechon is already pulled off the bone, it makes it much easier to eat and faster to serve which is great for when you have impatient kids who want to get their share immediately. My mother-in-law came a bit late and was surprised we had lechon Cebu at the table, she tasted it and gave it her seal of approval. All of the Cebuanos present at our small get together were impressed by it and were gushing over how great lechon Cebu was, it is indeed the best lechon in the Philippines. Thanks to Bai's Boneless Lechon Cebu for bringing it to Manila in a compact, easier to serve and devour package. I would definitely order from them again. </div>

They don't have a physical store yet, but their kitchen is in Alabang. They deliver (which I prefer) around Metro Manila though, hopefully they'd be able to ship to us here in Rizal soon, so I can order anytime I crave for lechon Cebu haha! </div>

One of the best things in the Philippines, in my personal opinion, other than the delicious food is public transportation. I've been to parts of Africa and the US where you need your own car to get anywhere.
