Hakab Na! is the biggest gathering of breastfeeding families in the Philipines, hosted by the online support group, Breastfeeding Pinays which I am a member of. I haven't been to a Hakab event yet, hoping that I might be able to join this year though!

Families and breastfeeding advocates come together each year with the aim to promote the health and economic benefits of breastfeeding, share the importance of providing proper support to breastfeeding mothers, and ultimately, create a breastfeeding nation.

It is held in August as part of the Philippines’ National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and International Breastfeeding Week.

Central to the celebration is the Big Latch On, a global activity where mothers simultaneously breastfeed their children in an effort to set a world record.

This year, Hakab Na! will be the culminating activity of the ASEAN BREASTFEEDING FORUM. It will be the biggest Hakab Na! to date with the support of the Department of Health (Philippines).

If you want to join us in Araneta, you can register here.
