Who doesn't know Pambansang Krung-Krung Sandara Park, now, more famously known as the Korean Popstar Dara? She took the Philippines by storm when she entered the reality-based talent competition Star Circle Quest back in 2004 where she was a runner up at the finale. She immediately signed with Star Magic after the show ended which marked the beginning of her music career with the self-titled extended play, Sandara. The carrier single "In Or Out" was a nationwide it. Her album remains the only album by a Korean born act to be certified platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.

2004 was also the year she landed her first lead acting role in the film Bcuz of U opposite Hero Angeles which bagged her the Best New Actress award at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies. Dara continued to dominate the Philippine market the following year with the major success of her comedy movie Can This Be Love, and her followup single titled "Ang Ganda Ko."

When her Philippine showbiz career went stale, Dara quietly returned home to South Korea in 2007 and signed with YG Entertainment. In 2009, she debuted as a member of 2NE1, the entertainment company's first girl group. They quickly became one of the most successful girl groups in South Korea, and have enjoyed critical and commercial success in image and music, the likes of which has led them to be globally recognized. I was a huge fans of K-dramas at the time and stumbled on the news that she started a new career in Korea. I was so proud of her when her group started to rise to star status and was saddened when in November of 2016 2NE1 disbanded, although Dara still remains signed with the entertainment company but as a solo artist.

Dara's first single release in South Korea, "Kiss", showcased a more mature sound that is undeniably different from her earlier music she became known for. 2NE1's hiatus in late 2014 allowed her to refocus on her solo career and then in 2015, subsequently headlined the web-dramas Dr. Ian, We Broke Up, and Missing Korea. She won the "Best Actress" award at the K-web festival for her role as Lee So Dam in Dr. Ian, and We Broke Up became one of the highest viewed web-dramas that year. Dara became a fixed host on the highly-rated variety program Sugar Man, and now currently appears as a judge on Pinoy Boyband Superstar. Yes, I turned into one of her fans after her success in Korea! I've been following her career too much haha. Busted!

Sandara Park chose to celebrate her 32nd birthday here in the Philippines, specifically at the Valkyrie Night Club last Friday, November 11, 2016. The KPop Star's guests included her bestfriend Joross Gamboa, the likes of Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpuz, Vice Ganda, Sam Milby, Sharlene San Pedro, Nash Aguas and Robi Domingo.

The "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" judge sported a white and light-blue pencil skirt to go with a long-sleeved, button-up shirt, a scarf and a stylish hat for her travel-themed party. Yup, she dressed up as a flight attendant for this one. "Welcome aboard Dara Air flight 2121 bound for Dara's heart. From captain Dara and the crew, it is our pleasure to serve you today. Love you all," Dara posted on her Instagram account as she shared photos of her party. That wasn't her only outfit for her special night. She was also spotted wearing a more casual frilly, purple blouse with jeans as she blew out the candles of her birthday cakes, one being a round Belgian Chocolate Cake right beside her two-layer one, which was fashioned into a luggage, decorated with the Korean flag and a gold-colored globe. Both cakes, you've guessed it, were of course made by Honey Glaze Cakes! Take a closer look at them:

The word is out, Dara absolutely loved the travel-themed birthday cake and Belgian Chocolate cake Ms. Aileen and team custom made for her party. The chocolate cake, of course, would taste divine, as always. And the luggage for her 2-tiered cake, I just couldn't get over the attention to detail on the straps and buckle of the bags, to think that they're all made out of sugar! Nothing but the best from Honey Glaze Cakes!
