And it was Pastry Chef/Owner Aileen Conde of Honey Glaze Cakes who brought the house down with a stunning 3-layer creation, that packed a punch when it came to overall taste and texture. And let me tell you, trying to find the perfect custom cake supplier was definitely a challenge because quite frankly, there were too many of them to choose from after the wedding scene boom a couple of years back. But we were finally able to narrow it down to the ones nearest our party venue and of course with glowing customer reviews. </span></span></div>

We gave them a call, found out they could accommodate us on the date of my mom's soiree and made an appointment to see their cake designs and of course, cake sampling.</span></span></div>

It was love at first bite, which was why we closed the deal with them right after the tasting, ignoring the other cake suppliers on our list. That settled, we then tackled choosing cake flavors for each layer and the most important part, the cake design.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">We chose their signature Belgian Chocolate for the bottom layer, then the Carrot Walnut for the second layer and the classic Red Velvet for the top layer of the cake. We took inspiration from my mom's love of music and dancing, worked from there and combined it with an existing design they had. We just changed up the music era appropriate for my mom's generation, the color motif, and added her favorite artists.</span></span></div>
