I have certainly learned a lot from blogging for more than a year now. It was in no small part due to the fact that a lot of experienced writers in the field lent this newbie a helping hand by sharing what they know. Yes, I did my own research. A ton of trial and error went down but the tips and sound advice from my seniors definitely helped me too. That's why, in the spirit of sharing I decided to write a couple of articles discussing the bits of knowledge that I have acquired which I honestly believe can help those who are just starting out.</div>

One of the key points in connecting with your target audience is to never underestimate the power of social media. Yes, for passionate writers like us, focusing on quality content is the main thing but if nobody gets to read our work, what's the point? Social media is where everybody is, that's where our potential readers are that's why our blog's social media presence should be something we should work on, agreed?<br /><br />I have been working on Stretch Your Peso's social media foot print on and off for the past year, I am no expert but here is what I have been doing so far that has worked to grow our audience base for free.<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><br /> </span></span></span></div>

<li>Joining Facebook Blog Community groups (both local and international), especially those that have Comment, Facebook Like, IG, G+, Twitter Follow Exchange activities for members.<br /></li>
<li>Doing Giveaways on your Blog (make sure to include Social Media Follow as part of the rules to qualify)<br /></li>
<li>Join Social Media Follow Backs hosted by different blogs/marketing sites - try the searching for the hashtag #FanpageFriday on Facebook, and grow your own page following<br /></li>
<li>When a blogger posts a follow/like back request for his/her new social media account, don't hesitate to join in!<br /></li>
<li>Do not underestimate the power of Hashtags, I get follows just from the hashtags that I use haha.<br /></li>
<li>On Instagram, I Follow accounts (like posts and even leave comments occasionally) that interest me, like Food blogs, Planner Addicts, Mom Blogs, and they usually follow back<br /></li>
<li>Tagging companies/shops I do reviews on helps too (tag them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), if they like the write up they'll follow your account back, post it on their own page and even go as far as to encourage their own fans to follow you as well. </li>

Getting followers is one thing, keeping them is another. Make sure your social media accounts are updated regularly to keep your existing followers interested and to reel new ones in. And I'm not just talking about plain links to your latest article. Adding catchy captions should keep it fun. Post attention grabbing custom images relevant to your blog. Come up with engaging posts that would let them interact with you through your social media channels. Be creative and interactive. <br /><br />That's it for now! Being new to the business means we don't have a lot of cash to burn on boosting/promoting our online footprint, but there are definite ways to do it without spending a single centavo. With these easy tips you can grow your social media presence while still stretching your peso!</div>

With some local celebrities raving about it on their Instagram accounts there is no denying the fact that Yana's shrimp paste is one of the best you'll ever taste. I am truly blessed and honored to be given the chance to sample the shop's famous bagoong and chili oil. Both were seriously addictive, no wonder patrons keep coming back for more after having a taste.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The bagoong was heavenly with the forever perfect combo of "Manggang hilaw with bagoong" and also Hikama or what we call Singkamas. I for one am not a fan of the famous Pinoy pairing, maybe it was because the other bagoongs that I've tried in the past just didn't cut it. But after having it with Yana's bagoong I have become a true convert. It has the perfect blend of sweet and salty that I personally love. We tried adding the bagoong to our favorite pork dish with squash and string beans and let me just tell you how utterly divine it was as an end result! Haven't tried making my own Binagoongan with Yana's shrimp paste yet but I bet it'll be awesome too! I actually asked the owner in passing if it was a secret recipe and she said it was indeed a family recipe, her Aunt's to be exact and the chili oil is her own. Impressive right? </span></span></div>

Being a Cebuano, he's more adventurous and into spicy food, really spicy food that yours truly in all honesty can't handle. Added to his favorite Asian stir fried dishes or just as a condiment on the side to add a special zing that turns a great meal extraordinary. It goes well with Siomai, just added some to the toyo-mansi we serve it with. Dipped our favorite finger and fried foods in it to satisfy his Cebuano palate that requires a certain degree of spiciness in every meal.</span></span></div>

The owner, Ms. Tuesday, is a home-based wife and mother who designs mostly handmade pieces. She has lockets, bracelets, rings, pocket watches, necklaces, USBs, bags and purses. What really caught my eye and drew me in was the Twilight Rose pocket watch. Just look at it.</span></span></div>

But I got it in the end! I will tell you about it later on. So I was a bit heartbroken after finding out that I only had a slim chance of getting the piece I wanted. But then, she had other great pieces that I could choose from and can purchase them at a fraction of the cost since she's having an Anniversary auction on selected pieces for a month on eBay Philippines. Check out the pieces I won! I didn't get the Arwen necklace but 4 out of 5 is not bad!</span></span></div>
