Being an online freelancer has a lot of perks, you get to take on the jobs that you like, set your own schedule and not leave the house to brave the terrible traffic on the road just to get to work. Other than time, skills, a reliable internet connection (which is admittedly hard to find in the country), and a smart phone, you also need to invest in a good laptop once you get the chance to. When you start out, it's ok to just use whatever is available, some even built their online freelancing careers by renting computers at cyber cafes for starters. But when your clientele grows and the amount of jobs increase, of course you'll need your own laptop/computer on a practical stand point.

I started blogging in 2013 (just filling up our site with quality articles that fit our chosen niche, to build an audience and our online footprint), but only took it seriously 2 years later & bought our own domain and had our first official client in the same year. I was just using our family desktop computer which we shared with the kids at the time and of course a smart phone for managing the social media end of it. Now that I have been writing professionally for almost 3 years now (in August to be exact, watch out of our 3rd anniversary giveaway!) and taking on graphics design projects & some social media managing, we decided to get a new laptop to add to our arsenal.

There was a discussion of whether we would get a secondhand one instead of a brand new one. A new one won out due to the fact that the purchase was an investment, and we would get the money back while using the device for online work. We wanted one that would last and wouldn't give us any surprise problems in the future, which would just get in the way of our productivity and earning online. Now on the matter between getting a laptop or desktop, of course we needed something portable and not because we leave home often, but it's so that we can work anywhere inside the house, any room to be specific, so that we can still look over the kids while we were at it.

It was a no brainer that we were getting ourselves a Mac. Why? Simply because of security. All of our files for work will be stored & managed there. Most of our payments from freelancing jobs are sent thru Paypal and we use online banking on a daily basis as well. We didn't want our bank and Paypal accounts and other confidential files to be put at risk using a Windows OS device which can be easily hacked remotely. I'm not saying you can't do that on an Apple device, because you can, it would just take a whole lot of effort, but for Windows, not so much. Most viruses and malwares are in fact designed for Windows, hence, the need for an Anti-virus software to be installed in your computer for protection.

So the hunt for a new MacBook Air began. We played around with the idea of going to malls and Greenhills to do some canvasing and price comparison, but didn't go through with it because of the traffic and the limited time we can squeeze in to do the task. Thanks to Lazada, which had official stores for the Apple brand, our problem was solved.

We ordered the latest 13" MacBook Air a week ago which was available for Cash On Delivery (I love COD!) and FREE Shipping (who doesn't love free delivery?) in our area. Yesterday, it was delivered. We received an email and SMS notification in the morning that our order was going to arrive that day, and that we should have the amount of Php4***** ready for payment. Mr. Lazada Delivery Man came to our doorstep at 1:30PM, gave us the package, accepted payment and asked us to open the box to show the contents while he took a video as proof that he delivered the goods in perfect condition (of course we readily complied). Here are photos of when we unboxed our new MacBook Air:

I couldn't really take photos of it right away since I was minding the kids, so the images above were taken after an hour of charging it and the initial setup was done, which only took minutes. Below are the product details of the Apple MacBook Air 13-Inch 128GB, MQD32, 2017 Model (credits to Lazada), order yours here:

The product is indeed authentic and brand new, the 1 Year International Manufacturer warranty with Apple also checked out fine. All in all a great purchase which will help us in earning more online! I love how easy it is to carry around when I have to go to a different room in the house and still continue on working. Still getting used to the Command key for shortcuts I use all the time instead of the Ctrl key in Windows. No worries, I'll get the hang of it soon! Haha.

Kudos to Lazada for a smooth transaction yet again! We didn't have to leave the house to buy a MacBook (saved us time and energy), saved on shipping fees and the COD option, a favorite of mine, was a bonus too! We got it way cheaper than mall prices as well! Getting a brand new MacBook Air from Lazada really stretched our peso!
